A municipal sewer main with chronic grease accumulation and confirmed root intrusion required full-bore clearing before structural lining could begin. Previous cold-water jetting attempts had failed to adequately emulsify the FOG load. High-pressure hot water jetting was deployed with rotating chain flails for root masses and penetrating nozzles for consolidated grease — restoring full hydraulic capacity and delivering a pipe surface profiled and ready for SprayWall® application.
We begin with a review of the pipe segment — diameter, material, length, and known conditions. For complex blockages, CCTV inspection prior to jetting identifies obstruction type, location, and severity so the correct nozzle and pressure can be selected.
Our jetting trucks are equipped with high-capacity water tanks, high-pressure pumps, and a full complement of nozzles matched to pipe size and blockage type — rotating chain flails for root intrusion, penetrating nozzles for consolidated grease, and flushing nozzles for sediment.
Jetting proceeds systematically from downstream to upstream access points, pushing debris toward the downstream manhole for extraction. Hot water is deployed at sustained pressure to emulsify grease and dislodge root masses. Multiple passes are made until full hydraulic capacity is confirmed.
Following jetting, a flow-through inspection confirms blockage clearance and restored hydraulic capacity. On rehabilitation projects, the cleaned pipe surface is ready for lining application. Documentation of pre- and post-conditions is provided for project records.
